One Month To Go and Good Intentions

I officially have one month left of my pregnancy! Wahoo! I feel bad that I've complained so much, especially considering that this really has been a fairly easy pregnancy. So I thought I'd take a moment to pay tribute to the best pregnancy perk that I get to enjoy.

When I am pregnant, my scalp stops producing oils. It is the craziest thing. It has happened with all three. I HATE doing my hair. I hate washing it and I hate styling it. So this is the greatest thing ever! I think I have pushed it farther this time than ever before. In the past, I remember going 5 days between washing my hair, but this time I'm going at least 6. In fact, I have yet to wash my hair this year! Don't worry I still bathe/shower everyday. I just don't wash my hair, because it does not get oily or stinky. And believe me, I have a very sensitive nose, so I know when my hair needs to be washed. I usually end up washing it just because I know it's been so long. It is the one thing I will miss about not being pregnant. Are there other quirky pregnancy perks that I'm missing out on?

So, in my last post I mentioned all the holiday weight gain. (I guess that is one other little perk, people cut you an awful lot of slack when it comes to pigging out when pregnant -- they practically cheer you on -- or is that not a perk?)

This is what I came home from the store with on Monday.

My goal is to get it all eaten before it goes bad. So far, I have single handedly polished off the broccoli and 2/3 of the spaghetti squash. The only help I'll get from my family will be with the fruits, so the vegetables are all mine. I'm feeling better already and have lost 1 1/2 pounds since I got home (I'm sure it's mostly water, but I'll take what I can get.)

My other goal is to not gain any additional weight by my next appointment (2 weeks), because let me tell you, I gained enough over the holidays for at least 2 months worth of pregnancy! I guess I'm putting this all out there for accountability purposes?!? Anyway, here's to not paving the road to hell with these big plans!

Way to go on all the veggies and fruits! BTW, yes, Christmas is always a crazy time to add more people to your list to go and see. If you're ever in town on a less busy trip, you'll have to stop by! I'd love to see you! And no worries on the "every other" comment. But, to agree, yes I think it will be fun for Ella to have a sister even though they'll be 4 yrs apart. I'm still glad. Hope that Elizabeth's arm is feeling better! Poor thing. My kids are always climbing on couches too... the things they do. You have such a cute family! Good luck in your last few weeks!

I can't believe you only have a month left! That is so exciting!!! Good luck with everything. I know how you feel about the fruits and veggies! I think I have already gained as much with this pregnancy as I did with the others and I am only half way :) Christmas is a killer.

I just now read this after having talked to you today. You can do it. I too gained some unwanted holiday pounds. We all do. I did the exact same thing on Monday. I bought a ton of fruit and veggies and the whole family had been chowin' down. It's been nice. I still have the occasional treat. I can't live completely without those.
